Günü Yakala - Seize the Day!

I've always loved the movie 'Dead Poets Society' and many of its quotes ...

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
   Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today
   Tomorrow will be dying.

Then be not coy, but use your time,
   And while ye may, go marry;
For having lost but once your prime,
   You may forever tarry.
(Robert Herrick)

Or to quote the movie quoting Walt Whitman -
"O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring;
of the endless trains of the faithless...
of cities filled with the foolish;
what good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here - that life exists, and identity;
that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse.”
That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

And finally from Henry David Thoreau –
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately,
to front only the essential facts of life,
and see if I could not learn what it had to teach,
and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Why do I mention these poems in my inaugural post?  Because my life is empty and I'm searching for meaning?  On the contrary, my life is a little too full right now.  Since I applied and was accepted to the Corporate Service Corps program nearly a year and a half ago I have accepted a new management position at IBM, added new missions to my department, and traveled to Lenexa (KS), San Jose, New York and Boston to meet my team.  Oh, and did I mention that I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful and hilarious one year old daughter, and we just moved cross country within the last month?

So do I have time to spend 5 weeks working in a foreign country?  Definitely NO!
Am I going to do it anyway?  Carpe Diem - Günü Yakala - Seize the Day!
